Gingerbread Houses

A big Merry Christmas to all the MAD ABOUT CAKES fans and readers out there! This Christmas season was one of our busiest yet, our ovens are still cooling down and our elves are taking an indefinite nap, but we did have time to do a few Gingerbread Houses that are so pretty you might just want to live in them…then eat them!

Each house was of course built by hand and then decorated with intricate piping designs, fondant roof tiles and snowflakes and a healthy dose of pearl and silver cachous.

A gorgeous twist on the common Gingerbread House and a unique gift for friends and family!

I dare say most of us can’t live with out our technology and gadgets – so why not just eat them to make sure they can never be lost? MAD ABOUT CAKES has made an iPad cake that almost looks to real (and good) to eat! A delicious swirled Vanilla Bean and Chocolate cake lies underneath a scrumptious coating of Vanilla Bean frosting. The iPad cake background has been hand painted to capture the look of a real screen and all the ‘apps’ have been hand crafted. It even has a charging and headphone port! You just need to make sure your eating a cake and not your iPad!
